First day in London
Our little group met up in the lobby of our hotel at 4:30 for wine, introductions and London 101. What a great little group we have! Their names are Eric, Mary, Chris, Katie, John, Janice, Suzanne and Bev. They come from various cities around the US and vary in ages. (sorry this post is a little late)
It is a beautiful day in London about 72degrees and sunny. We took the tube to Embankment, walked across the Millennium bridge and along the south bank to the London Eye. We could see for miles on the London Eye and all enjoyed seeing London from above(not sure if Suzanne liked the heights as her jet lag was still in full gear) at 450 feet in the air. I forgot my camera so this is us from my iPhone.
We then took the tube back to our hotel area around Oxford street and had a wonderful Turkish dinner at Sofra’s. Not many have had Turkish food before but the group wanted to try it and everyone loved it. I just love this place. They have the best hummus ever. I normally have Moussaka but this time I tried wonderful lamb stew over mashed potatoes with leek.
After our dinner we walked back to the hotel and those that were tired went up to bed and a few of us went out to the local corner pub for a pint. Very nice way to end the evening. It was a toss up for my favorite comment, you choose - Bev arguing that men in our family are indeed romantic and her proof was Dale writing “I luv u” in pee in the snow on a hunting trip or - Mary saying that Chris when he turns his profile looks like Sean Pean. His wife laughed so hard I thought she was going to fall over.
Great evening start to our tour

Sounds like a wonderful start to a fun tour! I can’t wait to hear more about London!
